Volcán de Santa Ana + Lago de Coatepeque

Conquer the Santa Ana volcano and unwind by the turquoise waters of Coatepeque Lake on this signature day trip through the heart of El Salvador.

This 11-hour adventure takes you from the coast of El Zonte to the highest volcano in El Salvador. We begin with a traditional breakfast before reaching the Ranger Station at Cerro Verde. The hike to the summit offers spectacular views of the emerald-colored sulfur lake inside the crater. After reaching the top, we descend and head towards the volcanic lake of Coatepeque, where you can relax by the water and enjoy a late local lunch. It’s an immersive experience that combines physical challenge with natural beauty, led by our expert local rangers.
